7-8:30am: Enjoy a Hearty Vermont Buffet Breakfast in Oscars Grille
8:45am: Departure for the village of Woodstock and Sugarbush Farm where you will learn the art of maple tree tapping, sap collection, and watch how cheese is hand waxed. Visit the Sugarbush gift shop and take home your own delectable souvenirs of this scenic working farm. Next it’s off to the picture perfect village of Woodstock with its covered bridge, white steeple church and village green. Here you will start your Wassail Day as you catch a ride on the horse drawn wagon, stroll the streets of Woodstock, hear the carolers and musicians on the street and in the homes, and tour some of the villages’ loveliest and most wonderful homes during The Holiday House Tour. Decorated for the holidays, these homes are open for self-guided tours. The tour begins at the Historic Town Hall Theatre. Take a break from the tour for Lunch at one of the great restaurants and to see the majesty of the Wassail Parade featuring beautiful horses and wagons on Saturday, at 2 PM at the Village Green. Gather on the Village Green directly after the parade to light the Wassail Bonfire Sing to sing the songs of the holidays.
At 4pm we will head back to Cortina Inn for refreshments and another holiday dinner, then it’s back to Woodstock's 400 seat Historic Town Hall Theatre, to experience the magic of A Christmas Carol, Dickens’ classic story is a favorite for young and old and is sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit. This rendition, originally produced by Radio City Hall, is filled with spectacular music, song and dance. Shows begin at the friendly time of 7 PM.
Sunday Dec 9th, Day 3
7am: - Start the day with another hearty Vermont buffet breakfast in Oscars Grille.
8:30am – Check out and depart for home remembering to stop at Mendon Mountain orchards for your delicious fresh baked apple pie.
